Seeking Retreat Space/Cabin in July

Hello! I am seeking to find a place of solitude in which I can take a personal meditation retreat at the end of this month for three days. The ideal setting would be a cabin in the woods away from any people, does not have to be fancy, I can supply my own food. Am happy to pay a reasonable fee for the use of it over the weekend of July 31st. Let me know!

warm regards,
Brett

Regional (Putney and Brattleboro Area) Faith Communities Invite Participation in Fast for Peace

Second Annual Fast for Peace, October 2nd

Brattleboro area faith communities and friends will be participating together in a national “Fast for Peace” on Thursday October 2nd and will be meeting at 5:30 to break a fast that day in a celebration of interfaith unity. The theme of the fast is both a focus on an opposition to the war in Iraq and a quest for peace in our world.

October 2nd falls on the last days of the observance of Ramadan, one week before the Jewish fast of Yom Kippur, and on the date of Gandhi's birthday and near the Feast of St. Francis - - thus an ideal time of interfaith convergence around issues vitally important to our lives and central to our faith traditions.

A Visit with David Moe

Many Putney folk will recognize the name of David Moe. David taught at Windham College and subsequently spent more than half of each calendar year living in Putney. Minnesota is another home for David and in the winter of 2007, while there, David fell and was unable to continue his cross-country treks. David is a beloved member of the United Church of Putney and recently the UCP pastor, Susan Tarolli, went to visit with David in Northfield, MN. I thought some of you who know and love David might be interested in the tale of the trip. You can read the reflection I offered in the context of worship if you click on the "Read More" link below.
